Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quoc Hung said that the ministry is reporting to the competent authorities to buy specialized aircraft and helicopters for mobile police forces.
On the morning of July 5, the Office of the President announced in accordance with the President’s regulations on the publication of laws passed by the National Assembly at the 3rd session of the XV National Assembly.
At the press conference, answering questions about the plan to equip aircraft and ships for the mobile police force to operate in accordance with the recently announced Mobile Police Law, Deputy Minister of Public Security Le Quoc Hung said that equipping aircraft for mobile police to meet the requirements of protecting national security, keeping social order and safety, solving problems related to the function of the police forces in general and the mobile police force.

Mr. Hung also mentioned that in emergency situations in rescue, natural disasters, enemy sabotage, and building collapse accidents, the police are allowed to use aircraft to perform their duties.
In addition, Mr Hung said that according to the law, it is allowed to use aircraft for patrolling, reconnaissance, maneuvering combat troops, transporting equipment, weapons and essential necessities to serve the mobile police’s work.
Deputy Minister Hung said that before the Law on Mobile Police was introduced, regulations on equipping aircraft for mobile police were prescribed in the Mobile Police Ordinance, and the Decree 77 of the Government stipulated in detail the implementation of the ordinance.
Accordingly, the mechanized police are equipped with motorized vehicles, the airspace includes specialized helicopters, unmanned aircraft, gliders, hot air balloons, etc.
On that basis, at present, the Ministry of Public Security continues to develop this regulation. Currently, the Ministry of Public Security has been determined to establish the People’s Army Air Regiment to start calculating the construction of this force as a specialized aviation force for mobile police.
“We have implemented and reported to the authorities to procure air transport for mobile police. However, it is not completed in one or two days but it takes time”, said Mr. Hung.
In addition to aircraft and specialized helicopters, according to the Deputy Minister of Public Security, the force is also researching developing unmanned ships, blimps, etc. to serve a variety of tasks.
