In the immediate period, the People’s Committee of Binh Dinh province proposes to invest in the construction and expansion of the apron (from the current 7 parking spaces to 14 parking spaces, with 11 parking spaces for Code C aircraft and 3 parking spaces for Code E aircraft); building a new station under the PPP method; invest in building a new runway (2nd runway) reaching level 4E from the state budget to serve the needs of civil and military.

Phu Cat Airport is currently operating, including 3 main items: apron with 7 parking positions for A321-200 aircraft; 2-story terminal and runway.
In which, the passenger terminal is capable of serving 600 passengers at peak hours, with a designed capacity of 2.5 million passengers/year, and can be expanded to increase the capacity to 5 million passengers/year.

According to the forecast results on the growth rate of industries, services, trade and tourism of Binh Dinh province, about 7.5 million passengers by 2025 and 12 million passengers by 2030.
