The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the COVID-19 outbreak a global pandemic more than a year ago. Since then, daily life across the globe has changed. The pandemic immediately disrupted practically all aspects of economic and social activity—and many aspects still are disrupted.
The aviation ecosystem and the airport sector, in particular, are again among the industries most affected by the COVID-19 health crisis due to the industry’s global nature. From the outset, nobody could have predicted the unprecedented impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the aviation industry because it combined significant economic and health crises alike. COVID-19 remains an existential crisis for airports, airlines, and their commercial partners, and the aviation industry needs support and practical policy decisions from governments. Despite a delayed recovery compared to earlier forecasts, the trend of gradual reopening brings a renewed optimism that aviation could see an uptick in 2022, moving the industry closer to its recovery.
Therefore, recently, Vietnam Airlines and Vietjet Air, with the support of the Government, have simultaneously announced their intention to restore regular international routes from January 1, 2022, with the approval of the Governments and authorities from other countries. Removing the border barriers is one of the first important steps to get ready for a post-Covid-19 recovery strategy.

It is also a good opportunity for the Vietnam International Aviation Expo – VIAE 2022 to be kicked off with the policy of opening borders to welcome businesses to connect and promote trade in order to bring the aviation industry into harmony and develop along with the recovery of tourism.
Along with the supporting guidelines and policy of the authorities in recovering the aviation industry, and the exploiting strategy of the airlines in prioritizing the exploitation of routes in Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia routes to quickly dominate the market; stably exploiting long routes to Europe, Australia, and the US, the Vietnam International Aviation Expo 2022 (VIAE 2022) with the theme “A sustainable development for a Bright Future” will be an occasion for the entire Vietnamese aviation industry and businesses to have a chance to interact with international friends in the same field.

Vietnam International Aviation Exhibition – VIAE 2022 will officially take place on May 10-12, 2022 at Vietnam National Convention Center – 01 Thang Long Boulevard, Nam Tu Liem, Hanoi. The exhibition is expected to have more than 150 domestic and international aviation enterprises, along with the visit of more than 3000 guests who are politicians, experts, business executives as well as people who are interested in this field to take part in.
